Hubei Hechuang Heavy Industry Showcases Leadership in LNG-Powered Shipbuilding During Ministry of Transport Maritime Safety Administration Special Inspection

As a leading representative of Hubei Province's LNG-powered shipbuilding sector, Hubei Hechuang Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. recently welcomed a special inspection team from the Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) of the Ministry of Transport, a move aimed at advancing the safe and standardized development of the new energy shipping industry. 


The inspection, conducted from June 24 to 26, 2025, underscored the company's pivotal role in driving green maritime innovation.​


In recent years, Hechuang Heavy Industry has established a dominant market position in new energy shipbuilding, with its technical capabilities in constructing LNG-powered vessels demonstrating remarkable advancements. On the afternoon of June 25, 2025, the company hosted the inspection led by Gao Youquan, Deputy Director and First-Level Inspector of the Yangtze River Maritime Safety Administration. The delegation included experts such as Zhang Qingwen, Director of the Ship Inspection Management Office of MSA, and was accompanied by Wang Wei, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Hubei Port and Shipping Development Center, along with other provincial and municipal officials. Wang Lingli, Executive Director of Hechuang Heavy Industry, led the company's technical and quality teams in a comprehensive report and exchange session.​

During the inspection, the team of leaders and experts toured production workshops, docks, and operational areas to examine the end-to-end construction process of new energy ships. Through systematic checks of core components, review of technical and quality control records, and in-depth discussions with Hechuang's technical personnel, the inspectors commended the company for its strategic market positioning and continuous efforts to enhance construction capabilities, while providing professional guidance for further improvements.​

Addressing the company's high-quality development, Deputy Director Gao Youquan lauded Hechuang Heavy Industry's achievements in new energy-powered ship construction. He noted that the company has proactively responded to the nation's green development call, making significant strides in technological innovation and product R&D. The new energy vessels built by Hechuang have demonstrated outstanding performance in energy efficiency, environmental protection, and operational optimization.​At the symposium, Director Zhang Qingwen emphasized that new energy ships serve as critical vehicles for implementing the green development strategy.

He highlighted MSA's commitment to continuously improving the inspection standard system for new energy ships to support enterprise innovation, while urging industry leaders like Hechuang Heavy Industry to maintain their demonstrative role.​


In response to the inspection team's professional recommendations, Executive Director Wang Lingli stated that the company would leverage this inspection as an opportunity to further enhance R&D capabilities and construction standards, refine its quality management system, and contribute more significantly to the development of green shipping under the guidance of competent authorities.​
